There’s going to be a book launch on Thursday, February 18 at Prohibition Gastro Pub & Oyster Bar on Queen St. E. near Broadview, in South Riverdale, Toronto. The significance is that the club used to meet in the basement there, back when the eaterie was under different ownership. Then the owner got nervous and sent them on their way. Prohibition is also around the corner from the former home of senior Bandido James (Ripper) Fullager and a stone’s throw from the old Satan’s Choice headquarters. Back in the mid-1990s, I was sent out to the Satan’s Choice clubhouse in the middle of the night when it was hit with a rocket-launcher attack. One biker thought I was from a rival club, and it was bizarre to have to identify myself as a reporter to calm him down.
