Dean Wiwchar looks like a particularly clean-cut college basketball player, but he’s got a nasty criminal records that includes robbing McDonald’s with a baseball bat. The Hells Angels in B.C. have roots deeper than anywhere in Canada, outside of Quebec. The Haney chapter just celebrated its 25th anniversary, under the watchful eye of plenty of police.
The masked Toronto gunman who killed John Raposo in a Little Italy cafe on Monday in broad daylight wasn’t trying to hit a second man, who caught a bullet in the stomach. A Berlin biker who headed the Nomads chapter of the Hells until recently is in a comas after a shooting. Police have him under guard in case there’s another attack. Germany’s Hells Angels were propped up by American servicemen after World War II in an interesting twist of the Marshall Plan.
Manitoba police try to use peace bonds to curb Hells Angels from hunting down members of the rival Rock Machine.
