There has been a spate of underworld hits and near hits in Montreal. The details aren’t known to police, and they range from high to low level. Despite the differences, the general theme is clear: mobsters are setting the the stage for the return of Montreal Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto from American prisoner in two months. Adding to the mix, biker Gregory Wooley, who has beaten murder charges three times, is already back on the streets. Expect to read the phrase “mob war,” plenty of times over the next few months.
