The Hells Angels in B.C. have roots deeper than anywhere in Canada, outside of Quebec. The Haney chapter just celebrated its 25th anniversary, under the watchful eye of plenty of police.

The masked Toronto gunman who killed John Raposo in a Little Italy cafe on Monday in broad daylight wasn’t trying to hit a second man, who caught a bullet in the stomach. Raposo was lucky to dodge a similar murder attempt a few years ago. His close friend Eddie (Hurricane) Melo wasn’t so lucky when a gunman attacked 11 years ago.

John Raposo, who was murdered while watching soccer’s European Championships in an outdoor cafe, wasn’t connected to Luis Manny (Chopper) Raposo, who was shot dead in the Bandido Massacre. But both men were from West Toronto and both men had ties to the Loners Motorcycle Club, although John Raposo was never a member.

German Hells Angel in coma and under guard

A Berlin biker who headed the Nomads chapter of the Hells until recently is in a comas after a shooting. Police have him under guard in case there’s another attack. Germany’s Hells Angels were propped up by American servicemen after World War II in an interesting twist of the Marshall Plan.
